Morgan

Morgan is a musical project born in 2012, moment in which Nina de Juan (piano and voice), shows her compositions to Paco López (guitar and voice) and Ekain Elorza (drums) and all three are encouraged to harmonize them and create a new group. That same year they debuted in acoustic format in the Costello hall in Madrid and offered a concert in the Basque Country, but it was not until the end of 2015 when they decided to enter the studio to record their first album. The studio chosen is La Cabaña (Madrid), where, with the help of producer José Nortés (Ariel Rot, Quique González, Sergio Makaroff, etc.), they record their first album North. Self-released album that has managed to make it into the lists of top sellers this 2017.

The album will be released in February 2016, coinciding with their return to live performances, this time with electric formation and the incorporation of Alejandro Ovejero’s band to the bass and David Schulthess to the keyboard. This first concert in the Sala Sol is also the first one in which the “sold out” is hung: a few weeks later, they would do the same in Berriz (Bizkaia) and in their two concerts at the Teatro Lara in Madrid, in June and September 2016. From that moment on, Morgan have not stopped playing and adding successes. During 2016 they presented their album in 25 different cities on the peninsula and visited some of the great festivals on the Spanish scene (Mad Cool, Sonorama, Gigante, Actual, Let’s Festival). Also worthy of mention is their opening concert for Leiva´s sold out concert at Palacio de los Deportes and their trip to Brazil to accompany Tulipa Ruiz (winner of a Latin Grammy) at several events in Sao Paulo.

This 2017 has got off to the best possible start: they have re-released their album after having finished the first edition (entering the lists of the best sellers of the year) and have continued to present “North” for new territories such as Catalonia, Santander or Zaragoza. Still with the sold-out of the legendary Joy Eslava hall in Madrid’s memory, the band is ready to go back on the road and visit new venues, cycles and festivals until their return to the studio for the recording of the second album.

See you on the road.
